Forever Alone Saturday - Heavenly Chocolate Chip Cookies

It's Saturday night. I'm home alone, in my pajamas by 7 and I have been craving chocolate chip cookies for a while. This need was intensified when I went to a garage sale today with a bunch of cute kiddos selling lemonade and cookies and I bought a cookie that was everything I ever dreamed of and asked the mom what her secret was. She said she used crisco instead of butter and so I came home, googled this recipe and got to it. Not sure if it's ever been pinned before, but I just did, so it counts as a test! I didn't plan to blog on it, but after I started, I figured why not! Aren't you lucky?

So, with that intro. Here's "Forever Alone" Saturday, where I bake alone, in my pajamas because I'm not out being social like normal people. And that's okay.

Right?

The necessities. Recipe and tunes. I'm drunk on Luke Bryan, chocolate chip cookies and Olympics. So so drunk. I love them so much. Soooo much... *hiccup*

I had to mix all the dry ingredients together first. Nailed it.

The alleged secret ingredient. Crisco. I just think it's awesome because apparently melted butter ruins cookies, but I never plan ahead and so am waiting for my butter to get room temp. So having it already available rocks my socks!

Sweet, amazing goodness. The meaning of life.

Using my NON Kitchenaid mixer. Someday I will own one, someday.

Adding 1/3 of the flour mixture at at a time is annoying, but I'll do it.

Sweet Jesus that looks amazing.

 Photobucket Let's do this!

Bored while cookies are baking to perfection. Photo op time! This funky frog thinger my mom bought me.

Photobucket Still baking..clean up time! A hint that people may already know, but I feel smart for figuring out on my own. Easy way to clean beaters is to manually whip around in a bowl of soapy water. They come out clean and you don't have to spend a lot of time on it. You're welcome. As thanks, I will accept your gift of a kitchenaid mixer. Aww shucks, you shouldn't have.

Bella was irked at me the whole time as I wasn't breaking to give her treats.

But she still loves me. Obligatory kitty loves while baking photo!

Now, I could wait until the first two pans of cookies cool a bit and remove from pan and use the same pan orrrr not. I hate waiting. I have things to do and cookies to nom. So I start a new pan.

Photobucket  PERFECTION! Look at those perfect specimens. I could be at a club booty popping to Rihanna but instead, I get these. Worth it? Most definitely.

These cookies.

Just look at it. Look at it and then clean the drool off your keyboard. I may or may not have moaned in delight in my kitchen when I took a bite. Okay I did, but I couldn't control myself. Now I may forever be a spinster but this is proof that, if I had the desire, I'd make a frikken awesome housewife. All I need is my apron and feather duster.

  1. Are they chewy? They look chewy. Must make. BTW thanks for the cleaning of the beaters tip, I'll try that next time.

    1. Not obnoxiously chewy but in a way, yes. If that makes any sense. :)
